Powerscourt Gardens anchor this full-day tour - an 18th-century estate whose grounds are often billed as home to Ireland's highest waterfall. That claim is worth a small caveat: Powerscourt Waterfall, at roughly 121 metres, is genuinely the second-highest continuous waterfall in Ireland, with the taller but intermittent Devil's Chimney in County Sligo technically holding the formal record - Powerscourt's height is still real and still dramatic, just not quite the outright number the marketing sometimes implies.
From the gardens, the route passes through Enniskerry, a small, genuinely picturesque Victorian village built by the Powerscourt estate to house its workers, before climbing into Wicklow Mountains National Park and past the Guinness family's Luggala estate on the way to Glendalough.
Glendalough itself is a real 6th-century monastic settlement founded by St Kevin, with its 30-metre Round Tower and stone church ruins still standing in the valley - a genuine counterpoint of early-Christian history to Powerscourt's later 18th-century estate landscaping.
