Riva's story starts a long way from luxury: in 1842, a storm on Lake Iseo wrecked the local fishing fleet, and a young shipwright named Pietro Riva earned the town's trust repairing the damage — and opened his own boatyard on the strength of it. Three generations later, the family shifted from fishing and cargo boats to motorboats, and by the 1960s the Riva Aquarama had become one of the most coveted luxury craft in the world, drawing film stars and royalty to the Italian Riviera.
