Ferrari and Lamborghini are both real, rival Italian marques with real factories you can actually walk into, and this private day trip takes you to the heart of each. Enzo Ferrari founded his company in 1947 in Maranello, where the factory and museum still sit today, roughly two and a half hours by road from Venice — your private vehicle and driver handle the whole drive while you sit back for the ride out of the city.
Lamborghini came along sixteen years later, in 1963, when Ferruccio Lamborghini set up his own factory in nearby Sant'Agata Bolognese with the explicit goal of building a more refined grand touring car than anything Ferrari was making at the time. The rivalry between the two marques has run for six decades since, and visiting both museums on the same day is a genuinely rare chance to see that history laid out side by side rather than just reading about it.
Both towns sit in what's often called Italy's "Motor Valley," the stretch of Emilia-Romagna around Modena and Bologna that's produced more high-performance cars per square mile than almost anywhere else in the world — and a full-inclusive lunch and admission to both sights are built into the day so nothing needs arranging on your own.
