An overnight private journey from Vancouver across the island to Tofino's wild Pacific coast.
A private 2-day, 1-night trip from Vancouver to Tofino with your own driver, crossing the island via Highway 4 with real stops along the way.
This is a private tour for your group only, in your own vehicle with a dedicated driver. Real stops include a pass-by of the Lions Gate Bridge, the classic Coombs country market (with its famous rooftop goats), a stop at Cathedral Grove's old-growth Douglas firs on the way through, and West Coast beaches and coastal cliffs once you reach Tofino, where you overnight before the return drive. Cathedral Grove is a brief pass-through stop on the only road to Tofino, not the focus of this trip — the destination is Tofino's beaches and coastline.
A popular starting point — every Voyzo itinerary is fully customizable, so we'll shape the order and stops around your group.

The route to Tofino is shaped by Highway 4, the only paved road to the island's wild west coast. Midway across, it runs straight through MacMillan Provincial Park, better known as Cathedral Grove, roughly 25 km west of Qualicum Beach and 16 km east of Port Alberni. Loop trails sit on both sides of the highway.
Some of the Douglas-firs there are reported to be more than 800 years old and around 75 m tall, with the largest on the south loop measuring over 9 metres around. A severe windstorm in January 1997 damaged parts of the park and trail restoration followed, so what you walk today is a managed, partly rebuilt grove.
Your trip begins with a pass of the Lions Gate Bridge, which opened on 14 November 1938 and was financed by the Guinness family to open up their West Vancouver land holdings. It spans 1,823 m in total, with a main span of 473 m. Spending a night in Tofino, instead of racing back the same day, leaves time to see the coast in changing light.
