About This Tour

Viña del Mar was laid out in the nineteenth century as a resort for Santiago's elite, and it still contrasts with working-port Valparaíso next door. Its Flower Clock, inaugurated in 1962, ties to the World Cup held in Chile that year, and the Fonck Museum holds an original moai from Easter Island.
The Casablanca Valley, about 20 miles from the Pacific, is cooled by ocean air. Pablo Morandé planted its first vineyards in 1982, and the valley became known for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, a very different story from Chile's warmer Maipo reds.
Valparaíso's UNESCO status, awarded in 2003, rests on its historic quarter and its hillside funiculars, which anchor the city part of the day.
