About This Tour
A private, fully-guided rock climbing session on some of Squamish's best single-pitch routes, suited to novices and experienced climbers alike. This is a genuinely private guided climbing session — your professional climbing guide works exclusively with your own group for the day, choosing routes suited to your ability at crags in the Squamish and Whistler area.
The Stawamus Chief, a granite dome rising more than 700 metres above Howe Sound, is one of the largest granite monoliths in the world. Its first ascent by the Grand Wall route in August 1961, by Ed Cooper and Jim Baldwin, put Squamish on the map for big-wall climbing. The Squamish Nation, the Skwxwú7mesh, regards the Chief as spiritually significant.
Squamish sits on the Sea to Sky Highway, linking Vancouver with Whistler. Single-pitch crags near town let beginners learn the basics on solid granite with a guide managing ropes and routes.
