Revelstoke sits between the Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges in the interior of British Columbia, and it has built its reputation on snow. Revelstoke Mountain Resort advertises a vertical drop of about 1,710 metres, among the largest at any lift-served resort in North America, and the area is known for deep winter snowfall.
The town is unusual in offering lift-served, cat-skiing and heli-skiing terrain from a single base, which means the surrounding mountains offer a wide choice of terrain for a photographer to work with. A private photographer can use that range: tree runs for soft light and texture, alpine bowls for scale, and open slopes for the classic action frame.
