About This Tour

A private canyoning tour through the Infiernillo Canyon, one of Querétaro's most iconic canyons, with rappels, natural slides, and turquoise pools along a 5.5-kilometer route. Real activities include rappels, natural slides, and turquoise pools along the canyon's genuine 5.5-kilometer, 500-meter-slope route, run as a two-night experience that blends canyoneering with gastronomic and bird-watching elements.

Infiernillo Canyon lies in the Sierra Gorda de Querétaro near Pinal de Amoles, a deep limestone gorge where narrow walls close in and the sun barely reaches the water. Sources describe walls rising to several hundred metres, emerald to aquamarine pools, and travertine formations that give the stream its colour. Typical descents involve a series of rappels, with individual drops reported up to about 27 metres, plus water jumps and tight passages.

The Sierra Gorda is a mountain region unlike the colonial-city image most people have of Querétaro state, with canyons, cloud forest and a long Franciscan mission history. A two-night format gives time to settle into that landscape instead of rushing a single day of descents. Technical canyoning is physically demanding and depends on water levels and weather, so a guide's judgment on the day matters more than any fixed route plan.
