The Isabella II is a genuinely well-equipped fishing charter — full fishing gear, bait, and individual fishing licenses are included, along with snorkeling equipment to explore Los Arcos Marine Park, a kayak, and a paddleboard. If you catch fish, the captain and sailor will clean and prepare fresh, traditional ceviche right onboard. Flexible boarding is available from either Puerto Vallarta (Pier K) or Nuevo Vallarta.

Hatteras Yachts is a genuinely established American boatbuilder, founded in 1959 in North Carolina — the company takes its name from nearby Cape Hatteras, known for its rough offshore conditions. Textile manufacturer Willis Slane commissioned naval architect Jack Hargrave to design a boat that could handle those waters, and the resulting Hatteras 41 Convertible became one of the first production yachts of its size built in fiberglass rather than wood, a genuine milestone in American boatbuilding at the time. The company has since built more than 7,600 boats, and the 42' model this charter uses descends directly from that same lineage of serious, offshore-capable sportfishing boats rather than a repurposed pleasure cruiser.
Banderas Bay itself is an unusually good setting for that kind of boat: it's one of the larger bays in North America at roughly 40 miles (65 km) across, with depths reaching close to two miles in its open-water sections, which puts a genuine range of fishing grounds within reach of a half- or full-day charter rather than requiring a long run offshore. Dorado (mahi mahi) is the species most commonly caught in the bay, typically running 20 to 80 pounds, alongside Pacific sailfish and blue and black marlin further out, with yellowfin tuna becoming more prominent through the winter months — though which species are actively running shifts through the year, so no single charter is guaranteed a particular fish.
Mexico requires a fishing permit for recreational saltwater angling, which is why individual licenses are built into this charter rather than left for guests to arrange separately — along with gear and bait, so there's nothing extra to source before boarding. And if the day produces a catch, having the crew turn it into fresh ceviche onboard is a genuinely common practice on Puerto Vallarta sportfishing charters, not a novelty add-on specific to this one.
