This route pushes further into the Sierra Madre than a standard half-day ATV loop, climbing past the lower tropical dry-forest belt and into terrain where traditional mountain villages — small, largely self-contained communities — sit along the trail rather than at its edge. The extra distance and elevation are also why this version is pitched at advanced riders: the track gets rougher and the climbs steeper the farther you go.
The hot springs stop taps into the same geology that shapes much of inland Jalisco — a landscape built on volcanic and fault-fractured rock, where groundwater heated at depth finds its way back to the surface through natural pools. These aren't engineered resort pools; they're a genuine feature of the mountain terrain, which is part of why the tour leaves time there flexible rather than fixed — how long you linger depends on the pool and the day.
Along with the springs, the ride passes through traditional villages where local food is available for tasting — a practical, unscripted complement to riding rather than a formal meal stop. Because pacing is left up to the group, the day works as either a fast-moving adventure ride or a slower, stop-often exploration of the Sierra Madre backcountry, depending on what the group wants out of it.
