About This Tour

A 9-day route between Portugal's two great cities — Lisbon's Alfama, Belém, and a Sintra day trip, then north via Coimbra to Porto's UNESCO old town, a Douro Valley wine estate, and a choice of Aveiro or the Minho region, before returning south via Nazaré and Óbidos.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Humberto Delgado Airport, Lisbon.

Day 1 — Lisbon

Airport transfer and a leisurely first look at the Alfama district, with dinner at a restaurant known for its city views.

Day 2 — Lisbon City Tour

A guided walking tour through Bairro Alto and Alfama, the Cathedral, St. George's Castle, Jerónimos Monastery, and Belém Tower.

Day 3 — Sintra & Cascais

The fairy-tale Pena Palace, then beach time in the coastal town of Cascais.

Day 4 — Lisbon to Porto

A drive north with a stop in Coimbra to visit the historic university and its Joanina Library.

Day 5 — Porto

A guided tour of Porto's UNESCO-listed historic center, followed by a Port wine cellar tour and tasting.

Day 6 — Douro Valley

A private wine estate tour with tasting and lunch in the Douro Valley, plus a traditional rabelo boat cruise, before returning to Porto.

Day 7 — Aveiro or the Minho Region

A choice of day trip — a boat ride and walking tour in Aveiro, or a tour of the Minho region's Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, and Braga.

Day 8 — Porto to Lisbon

The return journey south, with stops at Nazaré and the medieval walled town of Óbidos.

Day 9 — Lisbon

A final morning to explore before your airport transfer and departure.
