A fully custom private day at the Grand Canyon, with Route 66, Navajo Nation, and Sedona as real options.
Your private guide tailors this full-day Grand Canyon trip to your interests, with optional real stops along the way in Route 66 towns, the Navajo Nation, the Painted Desert, or Sedona.
This is a genuinely custom private tour: your guide tailors how much time you spend at the Grand Canyon's South Rim versus real optional stops like a Route 66 town, the Navajo Nation, the Painted Desert, or Sedona, so no two departures look exactly the same.

What sets this tour apart is the ground it's able to cover beyond the canyon itself, since the drive north from Phoenix passes directly through territory with its own real history. Route 66 has carried travelers through this part of Arizona since 1926, and towns like Williams still line their main street with businesses dating from the highway's heyday — Williams has the added distinction of being the last Route 66 town in the country to be bypassed by the interstate, holding out until 1984.
If your guide routes you through the Navajo Nation, you're crossing the largest Native American reservation in the United States — about 27,400 square miles across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, an area larger than the state of West Virginia. A detour toward the Painted Desert shows a genuinely different kind of Arizona landscape: its banded reds, lavenders, and oranges come from iron and manganese in roughly 200-million-year-old mudstone and shale, a different rock formation entirely from the much older layers exposed inside the Grand Canyon itself.
However you and your guide decide to split the day, the canyon remains the anchor — a destination protected as a national monument since 1908 and as a full national park since 1919, with the South Rim's viewpoints and trails available at whatever pace your group prefers once you arrive.
