About This Tour

A 7-day private route through northern Peru's pre-Inca civilizations and cloud forest — Chan Chan, the Lord of Sipán's tombs, Gocta Waterfall, and the Kuelap fortress — with no Cusco or Machu Picchu on the route. This is a genuinely different Peru trip: it never goes near Cusco or Machu Picchu, running instead through the pre-Inca civilizations of the north coast (Trujillo, Chiclayo) and the Chachapoyas cloud forest region — real northern Peru highlights that most first-time visitors never see.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Trujillo's Carlos Martínez de Pinillos International Airport.

Day 1 — Welcome to Trujillo

Airport transfer and a hotel briefing, with an afternoon visit to the Temple of the Moon (Huaca de la Luna).

Day 2 — Chan Chan & Huanchaco

The Rainbow Temple, the vast Chan Chan mud-brick citadel, and the fishing village of Huanchaco.

Day 3 — On to Chiclayo

A stop at the Huaca El Brujo stepped pyramid en route to Túcume, then on to Chiclayo, home of the Lord of Sipán tombs.

Day 4 — Into the Cloud Forest

A scenic seven-hour drive through desert, valley, and cloud forest to the village of Cocachimba.

Day 5 — Gocta Waterfall

A hike through sugarcane fields and cloud forest to the base of Gocta, one of the world's tallest waterfalls, with time to swim.

Day 6 — Kuelap Fortress

A cable car ride up to the pre-Inca Kuelap citadel at nearly 3,000m, with an optional stop at Sonche Canyon.

Day 7 — Farewell, Northern Peru

An early transfer from Chachapoyas to Jaén Airport for your departure.

Departure

The trip ends in Chachapoyas with a transfer to Jaén for your onward flight.
