The single most famous Greek sculpture in the Louvre's collection is the Venus de Milo, discovered by a farmer on the Greek island of Milos on 8 April 1820 and on display in Paris since 1821. Most scholars date the statue to the Hellenistic period, roughly the 2nd century BC, though — like a lot of ancient art without a signature or inscription — the exact decade is genuinely uncertain, and estimates in scholarship range across several decades within that century.
The Venus de Milo sits inside the Louvre's much larger holdings of Greek and Roman antiquities, spanning centuries of mythology carved into marble, painted onto pottery, and cast in bronze — a real, deep slice of a 460,000-object collection that began life as a 12th-century fortress under Philip II before becoming a public museum in 1793.
