A comprehensive, custom-paced circuit through Paraguay's real highlights — colonial Asunción, the artisan towns of the Golden Circuit, the UNESCO Jesuit mission ruins, the Itaipu Dam, and a finish at Iguazu Falls.
This route stays almost entirely within Paraguay, tracing a loop from Asunción through the Golden Circuit artisan towns, south to the UNESCO Jesuit mission ruins, east to Ciudad del Este and Iguazu Falls, before returning to Asunción via Villarrica and Lake Ypacaraí. The Jesuit ruins and a stop near Iguazu Falls also appear, in briefer form, on Voyzo's separate dedicated Jesuit Missions & Iguazu Falls tour — this longer circuit adds the Golden Circuit towns, Itaipu Dam, and the return leg through Villarrica and Lake Ypacaraí that the shorter trip doesn't cover.

Yes — every stop on this itinerary, including the Iguazu Falls viewpoints on both the Paraguayan and Brazilian sides, is reached as a day excursion with a return to Paraguayan accommodation, not an overnight stay in Argentina or Brazil.
La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangue are the best-preserved of the 17th- and 18th-century Jesuit reduction settlements in Paraguay, both inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites — real stone churches, workshops, and plazas built by Jesuit missionaries and Guaraní communities together.
About 2 of the 12 days are dedicated to Iguazu Falls and the Triple Frontier area — the majority of the trip is spent in Paraguay, across Asunción, the Golden Circuit, the Jesuit missions, and Villarrica.

Asunción was founded on August 15, 1537, making it one of the oldest cities in South America; later expeditions set out from here to found Buenos Aires a second time, Villarrica, Corrientes, and Santa Fe. The Golden Circuit around Lake Ypacaraí links lakeside towns: Itauguá is famous for ñandutí, a fine spider-web-style lace, Areguá for craft shops, and San Bernardino, the country's best-known lake resort.
Itaipu, which the tour visits, was opened on May 5, 1984, built jointly by Brazil and Paraguay on the Paraná River; when it began producing power it set a world record for installed hydroelectric capacity. The Jesuit ruins of La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangüe were inscribed by UNESCO in 1993.
