A private evening tour to the Amador Causeway's night views and Casco Viejo's illuminated colonial streets and bars. Panama City looks different after dark, and getting around alone at night isn't always straightforward — this private tour takes you to the Amador Causeway for skyline views, then through Casco Viejo's lit-up colonial streets, with a stop at a few of the old town's real bars along the way.
Panama City genuinely looks different after dark, and this private evening tour is built specifically around that — rather than a brief nighttime add-on to a daytime itinerary, the whole 4-hour route is planned for after sunset, when the skyline and the old town both take on a different character.
The first stop is the Amador Causeway, a roughly century-old breakwater built from an estimated 3.5 million cubic feet of material excavated during construction of the Panama Canal. It was originally built to protect ships waiting to enter the canal and to connect the Naos, Culebra, Perico, and Flamenco islands — and the fortifications once built there to defend the canal — to the mainland. Today it's one of the best places in the city to watch the skyline light up across the water.
From there, the tour moves into Casco Viejo once the sun is down, when the old town's plazas and colonial facades are illuminated and the streets take on a noticeably different, more lively atmosphere than during the day — including a stop at a few of the neighborhood's real, well-known bars.
Because navigating an unfamiliar city at night isn't always straightforward, having a private guide and driver for the whole evening means you see both the skyline views and the old town's nightlife without having to work out logistics yourself.
