Monaco's connection to motorsport is genuinely old, not a modern marketing invention. The Monaco Grand Prix dates to April 14, 1929, organized by Antony Noghès through the Automobile Club de Monaco — a race run entirely on the public streets of Monte Carlo that was actually created to help the club qualify for full national motorsport status, since no major event had ever been held wholly within Monaco's own borders before. The first race was won by William Grover-Williams, driving under the pseudonym "Williams," in a works Bugatti Type 35B. The even older Monte Carlo Rally, first run in 1911, gave the principality its motorsport reputation before the Grand Prix existed at all.
That century of real racing history is part of why Place du Casino, in front of Monte Carlo's Belle Époque casino, has organically become a genuine supercar-spotting destination — residents and visitors drawn to Monaco's wealth and motorsport culture park and display exotic cars there as a matter of course, not as a staged photo opportunity for tourists.
This tour is guide-driven throughout, not self-drive — your guide handles the roads while you watch for the cars and take in the real Riviera scenery along the way — and includes a stop at a genuine car museum for automotive heritage beyond what you'll see parked on the street. As a private tour, it's just your own group for the full 4 hours.
