The hands-on perfume workshop draws on a genuine Riviera craft tradition. Since the 16th century, the nearby town of Grasse has built its reputation as the historic heart of French perfumery, refining techniques — distillation, enfleurage, and the precise blending work perfumers call 'assemblage' — to capture the scent of local jasmine, rose, lavender, and orange blossom. This workshop lets guests try that same hands-on process themselves, working to build and bottle a fragrance of their own rather than just watching a demonstration.
The wine side of the day draws from an unusual source: AOC Bellet, one of the smallest wine appellations in France at just over 50 hectares, and the only one located entirely within the boundaries of a single city — Nice itself. Vines were first planted on these hillsides above the Var River by Greek settlers more than two thousand years ago, and a handful of growers still work terraced slopes 200 to 400 meters above the Mediterranean, where the altitude and sea air give Bellet wines their distinct character.
Pairing a genuine working craft with a genuinely local, small-production wine makes this one of the more hands-on days on the Riviera — guests leave with both a bottled fragrance of their own creation and a real taste of a wine most visitors never encounter.
