A private day trip from New Orleans to the antebellum plantations along the Mississippi River — passing Oak Alley and Evergreen Plantations, and touring the well-preserved Laura Plantation with a guide who shares the documented history of both the free and enslaved families who lived there. Laura Plantation is the main guided stop, with a roughly 90-minute tour based on over 5,000 pages of documents from the French National Archives covering both the free and enslaved families who lived there. Oak Alley, Evergreen, and St. Joseph Plantations are seen as drive-by stops along River Road.
