A 5-day route through North Holland's fishing villages, cheese markets, and windmills — Marken, Volendam, Edam, Hoorn, Medemblik, Den Helder, and Zaanse Schans — following the Markermeer and North Sea coast. Adapted from a self-guided cycling itinerary, where travelers pedal between towns independently on rental bikes using GPS-guided routes — Voyzo runs this route with your own private driver and vehicle instead, so you can enjoy the fishing villages and windmills at a relaxed pace without covering 30–40 miles a day in the saddle.
A private guide, driver, and vehicle for the entire trip, with hotels pre-arranged at every overnight stop — the pace and any optional stops can still be shaped around your group.
Arrival pickup at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) or your Amsterdam hotel.
Depart Amsterdam along the coast to the village of Marken, a ferry to Volendam's fishing harbor, and on to Edam's historic cheese market and Hoorn.
Continue along the Markermeer coast via Enkhuizen to Medemblik, the oldest town in West Friesland.
Reach the northernmost point of the route at Den Helder, home to the Navy Museum's historic warships.
Ride south through bulb-growing farmland (tulip fields in spring) to the artists' village of Bergen.
Finish at the historic windmills of Zaanse Schans before a transfer back into Amsterdam.
The trip ends with a transfer to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) for your departure flight, or onward within Amsterdam.
