A 12-day circuit through the Kathmandu Valley's Durbar Squares and stupas, south into Chitwan National Park's jungle and wildlife, and west to the lakeside city of Pokhara beneath the Annapurna range. Arrival pickup at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Kathmandu.
Settle into the medieval city of Bhaktapur, taking the day at an easy pace to adjust to the altitude and soak up its Newari brick-and-pagoda streets.
Tour Bhaktapur Durbar Square and its 55-window palace, then continue to the hill station of Nagarkot for sunset views over the Himalayas.
Watch dawn break over the mountains from Nagarkot, then visit Patan Durbar Square's Krishna Temple and the hilltop Swayambhunath Stupa, the 'Monkey Temple'.
Hike through Shivapuri National Park, then visit the reclining Vishnu statue at Budhanilkantha and Boudhanath, the world's largest stupa.
Drive along the Trishuli River into the Chitwan lowlands, arriving in time for sunset over the jungle.
A full day of jungle activities in Chitwan National Park — canoeing, a village walk, and a Tharu cultural dance — in search of rhinos, crocodiles, and birdlife.
Follow the Trishuli River toward Pokhara, with views of Mt. Fishtail along the way, arriving at the lakeside city by afternoon.
A day to explore Pokhara at leisure — the caves beneath the city, Phewa Lake, or optional paragliding and ziplining above it.
Rise early for the panoramic sunrise over Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre from Sarangkot, then a free day back in Pokhara.
Drive back to Kathmandu, with time in the evening to explore the Thamel district.
Visit the Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath on the Bagmati River, then Kathmandu Durbar Square and the Kumari's 'Living Goddess' house, closing with a traditional Nepalese dinner and dance.
A final morning in Kathmandu before your airport transfer.
The trip ends in Kathmandu with a transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) for your departure flight.
