Bodega Vistalba is a third-generation project. It was founded in 2003 by Carlos Pulenta, built between 2001 and 2004 on family-owned land at the heart of Vistalba, in Luján de Cuyo, roughly 80 years after his father, Don Antonio Pulenta, had built the family's earlier winery, Peñaflor. The first wines reached the market in 2005, and today the winery is run by Paula Pulenta, fourth generation of the family, exporting to markets across several continents. The tasting draws from three of the estate's collections — Vistalba, Tomero, and Progeny — each representing a different tier of the winery's winemaking.
Lunch moves to Bodega Susana Balbo's own restaurant, Osadía de Crear, which has operated on the estate since 2013 under chef Flavia Amad Di Leo. The kitchen builds its menus specifically around estate wine pairings, offered as four- or six-course tasting menus, and it's earned real recognition for it: Osadía de Crear holds both a MICHELIN Green Star, awarded in 2025 for its sustainability practices — composting, water reuse, and sourcing from local suppliers — and the Michelin Guide's Recommended distinction, which it retained again in the 2026 edition.
The winery behind that lunch carries its own history. Susana Balbo became Argentina's first woman to graduate with a degree in oenology in 1981, and went on to build her reputation redefining Torrontés in Salta province before returning to Mendoza to found her own label. That story gets more room on a different Pulenta-adjacent tour in this collection — here, it's the backdrop to a meal built specifically to showcase her wines.
