About This Tour
A private tour for your group only, real stops at the genuine Enchanted Adventure Gardens — mazes and an obstacle course. This is a private tour for your group only. Real stops include the genuine Enchanted Adventure Gardens, with mazes and an obstacle course.
The Enchanted Adventure Garden started with a single paddock. In 1992, owner Michael Savage bought fifteen acres on Purves Road at Arthurs Seat intending to build a set of gardens appealing to adults and children alike, with a maze as the hook for younger visitors. That idea grew into twenty themed gardens, and in 1997 three mazes opened together as the Enchanted Maze Garden.
The standout is the Hedge Maze, planted with more than 500 Leighton Green conifers and inspired by England's famous Hampton Court maze — with an oriental twist that sends visitors searching for five hidden Buddha statues and a small topiary garden before they reach a Japanese garden at its centre. Alongside it, the property plants a fresh Maize Maze every year using more than 100,000 corn stalks in a new design, and when it's fully grown it becomes the largest maze of its kind anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere, covering more than two and a half acres.
What began as gardens with a maze attached has since grown into a genuine adventure park, with an obstacle course alongside the mazes — making it a natural, family-framed stop on the Mornington Peninsula for groups with kids who want something more hands-on than vineyards and lookout views.
