What makes a glass-bottom boat a genuinely different way to see Land's End is the view beneath the surface, not just around it: a clear panel built into the hull lets everyone look straight down into the water as the boat moves, without anyone getting wet or needing snorkel gear. On the calmer, Sea of Cortez side near Lover's Beach, that usually means a look at reef fish and rock structure in clear, shallow water, on top of the surface views of El Arco everyone gets from any boat.
The history behind Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach is a real geographic quirk worth knowing before you see it: the two beaches sit back to back on the same narrow spit of land at Land's End, but face completely different water. Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) is on the sheltered Sea of Cortez side, shallow and calm enough for casual swimming and snorkeling, while Divorce Beach (Playa del Divorcio), just a short walk across the sand, faces the open Pacific directly and has strong rip currents that make it unsafe to swim — which is exactly why boat-based sightseeing, rather than a beach landing, is the usual way to see both sides.
The sea lion colony is also a case of two real, separate sites rather than one — La Lobera is a flat, wave-washed rock near the Arch where California sea lions regularly haul out and bask, while Pelican Rock, closer to the marina entrance, tends to host smaller groups that are often seen right from the water while boats or snorkelers pass by. Both are part of the same wider Land's End population, which is most active and vocal in the morning hours.
