About This Tour

A private tour for your group only — Oxford's real historic university colleges, with a genuine lunch option included. This is a private tour for your group only. Oxford's real historic university colleges are explored, with a genuine lunch option available.

Christ Church is one of Oxford's grandest and most storied colleges, founded in 1525 as Cardinal's College by Cardinal Wolsey before Henry VIII seized it and renamed it Christ Church in 1546. Its Tom Tower, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, overlooks Tom Quad, the largest quadrangle in Oxford, and the college has produced thirteen British Prime Ministers over the centuries — alongside alumni as varied as Lewis Carroll and, for a time, Albert Einstein.

Nearby, the Radcliffe Camera is easy to spot and hard to forget: designed by James Gibbs in the English Palladian style and built between 1737 and 1749, it was the first circular library built in England, and its distinctive domed silhouette has become one of Oxford's most photographed buildings.

A genuine lunch option built into the day means real time to actually sit down inside the city rather than treating Oxford as a quick walk-through between coach stops — enough time to let the scale of these centuries-old colleges actually sink in.
