About This Tour
A private tour for your group only, aboard a black taxi — real historical sites tied to the Jack the Ripper case. This is a private tour for your group only, aboard a real London black taxi. Real historical sites tied to the Jack the Ripper case are covered, handled with genuine historical context.
The Jack the Ripper case rests on five confirmed murders — known as the 'canonical five' — committed in Whitechapel between 31 August and 9 November 1888: Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly. All five were killed by having their throats cut, and all but Stride were further mutilated; investigators at the time believed the killer was interrupted during her attack, since her injuries were comparatively minor.
What makes the case endure isn't just the violence — it's that it was never solved. The surgical precision of some of the mutilations led contemporary investigators to suspect the killer had anatomical training, and Scotland Yard investigated hundreds of suspects over the following decades without ever reaching a confirmed identification. More than a century of 'Ripperology' later, the case remains formally open and genuinely unresolved.
