The Warner Bros. Studio Tour you're being driven to is a genuinely different kind of attraction from a filming-locations tour around central London — it opened on 31 March 2012 at the real Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, about 20 miles outside the city, inside two soundstages purpose-built for the exhibit rather than used for active filming. Inside is a permanent display of authentic sets, costumes, and props from the actual film productions, including the Great Hall of Hogwarts and Dumbledore's office, spread across roughly 150,000 square feet.
The tour's grand finale is a scale model of Hogwarts Castle that reportedly took the equivalent of 74 years of combined crew labor to build, and the self-guided visit typically runs about three and a half hours once you're inside — on top of which this transfer gets you there and back without juggling trains or a shared coach timetable.
