The Circuito Mágico del Agua (Magic Water Circuit) sits inside the Parque de la Reserva, a park in central Lima that was given a major renovation and reopened with its fountain complex on July 26, 2007. The circuit includes 13 separate fountains spread across the park, each choreographed with water, colored lighting, and music — and a couple of years after opening, in 2009, it was officially entered into Guinness World Records as the world's largest fountain complex in a public park.
The most powerful of the 13 is the Fuente Mágica (Magic Fountain), whose central jet can shoot a column of water roughly 80 meters (about 262 feet) into the air. A separate highlight, the Fuente de la Fantasía (Fantasy Fountain), runs a multi-part laser, light, and water show several times most evenings, projecting colors, shapes, and effects onto the moving water — the kind of spectacle that's genuinely best seen after dark, which is why this private tour runs as an evening outing.
After the fountains, the tour continues to Lima's Plaza Mayor (also called the Plaza de Armas), the city's original central square and the heart of the Historic Centre of Lima, which UNESCO first recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1988 and extended in 1991 to cover the broader colonial-era center, including the buildings around this very square. Seeing it illuminated at night, with the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and the Municipal Palace all lit up, is a genuinely different experience from a daytime visit.
