An 8-day landscape-focused route through Kyrgyzstan — the Chong-Kemin valley, a Kyrgyz horse farm, Karakol's church and mosque, Jeti-Oguz canyon, a yurt-making village, and the Konorchek Canyons near Bishkek. Airport pickup and city sightseeing at Ala-Too Square and Osh Market, then travel to the nature reserve in the Chong-Kemin valley for an overnight at a family guesthouse.
A free day in the valley with optional hiking to lookout points, horseback riding, or rafting on the river.
Stop at the petroglyphs museum in Cholpon-Ata, walk along the Semenovka gorge river, then visit a horse farm showcasing Kyrgyz breeds.
Visit a wooden Orthodox church and a Chinese-style mosque, the Przhevalsky Museum, and an Uyghur family cooking demonstration.
Stop at Jeti-Oguz canyon's red rock formations and Barskoon Gorge, before an overnight at a yurt camp on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.
Visit the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, where artisans craft traditional yurt frames, with an optional eagle-hunting show and a women's cooperative visit, finishing with a besh-barmak dinner.
Explore the red sandstone Konorchek Canyons, often compared to a miniature Grand Canyon, then visit the 11th-century Burana Tower on the Great Silk Road.
