A private day trip combining Kilkenny City, Glendalough's monastic settlement, and the Powerscourt Gardens and House. This is the broadest of the Wicklow-area combo tours, stretching the day across three genuinely distinct regions rather than staying within County Wicklow alone. It opens at Glendalough, the 6th-century monastic settlement founded by St Kevin, where the Round Tower and ruined stone churches still stand in the valley he originally sought out as a hermit's retreat.
From there it's on to Powerscourt Gardens and House, the 18th-century estate whose grounds include Ireland's famous - if not technically tallest - waterfall, before the day finishes with a run south to Kilkenny Castle. Built from the late 12th century by the Anglo-Norman Marshal family and later held by the Butler family for more than five centuries, Kilkenny Castle anchors a city nicknamed the 'Marble City' for its distinctive black, polished limestone.
Covering three separate regions in one day is genuinely ambitious, so expect less unhurried time at each individual stop than a Wicklow-only itinerary would allow - the tradeoff for seeing considerably more ground in a single private day.
