The northern end of Okanagan Lake near Vernon is noticeably quieter than the Kelowna waterfront. The lake narrows here and the shoreline is a mix of orchards, small beaches and steeper rocky slopes, so a day on a small pontoon boat feels well away from the crowds.
The lake as a whole stretches about 120 kilometres and reaches a maximum depth of roughly 230 metres, with kokanee, rainbow trout and whitefish living in its cool water. It is also the setting for the Ogopogo legend, a lake-monster story with no confirmed evidence behind it.
The Okanagan Beach Club stop gives the day a natural break for lunch or a pool, and the Voyzo-arranged drive up from Kelowna means you do not have to worry about getting to or from the dock.
