Okanagan Falls wraps around the stretch of valley between Skaha Lake and Vaseux Lake and is recognized as its own sub-geographical indication. Its wineries are mostly small and family-run, and many sit on hillsides with long views toward McIntyre Bluff.
Stag's Hollow launched in 1995 as the third winery in the area, and its name comes from a fawn encountered in the vineyard and the kettle hole, or hollow, that shapes the estate's microclimate. Noble Ridge takes its name from the noble grape varieties it grows, and its tasting-room view looks south toward Vaseux Lake.
The orange wine mentioned on this tour is a white grape fermented with its skins, which gives colour and a grippy, tea-like texture. It is a niche style, so treat it as an adventure rather than a staple.
