Frequently Asked Questions
The winery or cider stop is optional — you can add a tasting there, or simply enjoy the vineyard setting as a photo stop.
Yes — Kamloops sits in one of Canada's few semi-arid regions, with sagebrush hillsides and sandstone hoodoos that look more like the American Southwest than typical BC forest.
A relaxed lunch or café break at a locally recommended spot is included partway through the day.
Savona sits on Kamloops Lake about 32 kilometres west of Kamloops, so the lakeside drive is short and easy to combine with the hoodoo viewpoints.
Once your quote is accepted, we'll confirm your exact pickup time, vehicle, and driver details by email ahead of your tour date.

About This Tour
A private day trip through Kamloops' semi-arid countryside — a viewpoint over Kamloops Lake, the region's striking hoodoo rock formations, and an optional stop at a Thompson Valley winery — with a private driver the whole way.
Kamloops sits in the rain shadow of the Coast Mountains and receives only about 270 millimetres of precipitation in an average year, the lowest total among Canada's major cities in recent climate normals. That is why the drive west looks more like sagebrush and grassland than the forests most visitors expect from British Columbia.
Kamloops Lake, about 29 kilometres long, is a widening of the Thompson River between the city and Savona, with steep grassy bluffs above the water and railway lines along the shore. Nearby, the hoodoos and silt cliffs were shaped after ice-dam failures about ten thousand years ago released violent floods, and some formations such as Castle Rock Hoodoos in the Deadman Valley are cut from eroded volcanic ash.
A winery stop adds a taste of the Thompson Valley, where warm days and dry air favour cool-climate grape varieties. The winery is optional and tasting fees are extra, so tell your driver before the day starts whether you want it.
