About This Tour
A private open-top classic car and a bilingual guide take you through Old Havana, the Malecón seafront, and the city's real neighborhoods, with the route shaped around what you want to see. The Malecón, the seawall promenade you drive along, runs for about eight kilometres from the mouth of Havana harbour, past Centro Habana and into Vedado. Construction began in 1901, during temporary US military rule, and its original purpose was practical: to protect the city from the sea. It has since become the city's living room, where people gather in the evening.
Old Havana, or Habana Vieja, was founded on 16 November 1519 and its core and fortifications were inscribed by UNESCO in 1982. Seen from the back of an open convertible, the contrast between restored colonial plazas and crumbling façades a few blocks away is the real story of the city.
A flexible route lets you spend more time where your interest lies, whether architecture, music or photography.
