About This Tour

A 6-day private trip for volcano enthusiasts — a hike up active Pacaya to roast marshmallows over volcanic heat, Mayan villages on Lake Atitlan, and an overnight camping ascent of Acatenango to watch Fuego erupt after dark. Day 1 — Bienvenidos a Guatemala!

Arrival at La Aurora International Airport and a private transfer to Panajachel on Lake Atitlan, ringed by three volcanoes.

Day 2 — Hiking & Mayan Village Discoveries

A boat crossing to Santa Cruz La Laguna and a walk to the village of Jaibalito, and a visit to San Juan La Laguna's weavers' cooperative for a lesson in natural dyeing.

Day 3 — Journey to Antigua

A transfer to colonial Antigua, with the afternoon free to explore its cobblestone streets, more than 30 monasteries and convents, and the arcades of Parque Central.

Day 4 — A Beautiful Acatenango Volcano Adventure

A roughly five-hour hike up the dormant Acatenango volcano to a tented camp facing the active Fuego crater, with dinner and lava jets visible through the night.

Day 5 — Volcanic Sunrise & Stunning Antigua

An optional pre-dawn summit push to watch sunrise from Acatenango's peak (or a gentler alternative hike on Pacaya), before returning to Antigua by late morning.

Day 6 — Farewell, Guatemala!
