A boat trip to the Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlan, home to the Maximon cult, and San Juan La Laguna, where a weavers' cooperative teaches natural dyeing and traditional weaving.
A walk through the Atitlan Nature Reserve's Butterfly Geodome and river trails, followed by a flight from Guatemala City to Flores.
A full day at Tikal, where roughly 3,000 structures rise from the rainforest, including the 65-meter Temple of the Great Jaguar, amid spider monkeys, toucans, and howler monkeys.
A visit to Yaxha, a rarely-visited Mayan city on the shores of Lake Yaxha, followed by a flight back to Guatemala City.
