About This Tour

Wade into a Jackson Hole-area river with your own private fly fishing guide, learning the best local spots without sharing the guide's attention with anyone else. Because the tour is fully private, your guide's full attention is on your group.

Wade fishing is a different rhythm from floating. You stand in the river, read the current and work one run at a time, which makes it an excellent way to learn casting mechanics because the guide can stand beside you and adjust your cast between drifts.

The native fish of this region is the Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat, a subspecies found in the Snake River drainage and recognizable by its small, fine spots and red-orange lower fins. It is generally considered in good condition compared with other cutthroat subspecies.

A valid Wyoming fishing license is required on public waters; nonresident daily licenses have been priced around $14 and annual licenses around $102, but those figures may have changed, so check current rates. Regulations vary by water, including catch-and-release rules in parts of the Snake River within the park.
