A full day lets a guide work more than one stretch of the Flathead system, which includes the North Fork, the Middle Fork, and the South Fork above Hungry Horse Reservoir under its 1976 Wild and Scenic designation.
The river runs along the edge of Glacier National Park: the North Fork centerline and the Middle Fork's mean high water line form the park boundary, so scenery is part of the day even when you stand outside it.
Longer time on the water means room to change flies, water, and pace as conditions shift.
