About This Tour

Eleven days pairing Cairo's pyramids with a deep run through the Western Desert — Siwa Oasis, the Black and White Deserts, and the Wadi Hitan whale fossil site. This trip is entirely within Egypt and does not include a Nile cruise. Like our Oasis Discovery tour, it focuses on the Western Desert oases rather than the Nile Valley temple circuit, with the added stops of Fayoum's Wadi El Rayan waterfalls and Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales).

Day 1 — Arrival in Cairo

Land at Cairo International Airport, check into your hotel, and get an evening trip briefing.

Day 2 — Giza, Memphis & Saqqara

Tour the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, ancient Memphis, and Saqqara's Step Pyramid of Djoser.

Day 3 — Cairo to Siwa Oasis

Travel to Siwa via the Alamein World War II Museum and the Mediterranean coast at Marsa Matrouh.

Day 4 — Siwa Oasis

Explore Shali Old Town, the Siwa Museum, the Temple of Amun and Oracle Temple, Cleopatra's Spring, and a Bedouin dinner at Bir Wahed.

Day 5 — Siwa back to Cairo

Return journey across the Western Desert to Cairo.

Day 6 — Cairo's cultural sites

Visit the Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Day 7 — Bahariya Oasis & the White Desert

Travel to Bahariya Oasis, explore the Black Desert and Crystal Mountain, then camp in the White Desert.

Day 8 — White Desert

Explore the chalk formations and springs of the White Desert, with breakfast among the dunes and sunset viewing.

Day 9 — Back to Bahariya

Return to Bahariya, touring the Salty Lake, Pyramid Mountain, and English Mountain at sunset.

Day 10 — Bahariya to Fayoum to Cairo

Visit the Wadi El Rayan waterfalls, the UNESCO-listed Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), and sand-boarding at Mudawara Mountain.

Day 11 — Departure

A leisure morning in Cairo before transferring to the airport for departure.

The trip ends in Cairo with a transfer to Cairo International Airport (CAI) for your departure flight.
