About This Tour

Pyramid Lake sits just north of the townsite and is joined to Pyramid Island by a small bridge that is among the most popular photo spots in Jasper, with views of Pyramid Mountain behind it. Patricia Lake lies a short walk further along.

Lake Annette and Lake Edith lie on the valley floor at lower elevation than many of the park's lakes. Both are relatively shallow, which lets them warm up enough for swimming in summer.

The drive from Edmonton is about 366 kilometres each way along Highway 16, roughly four hours, so the 14-hour day leaves a fair amount of time at the lakes themselves. Jasper became a national park in 1930 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
