About This Tour

A compact 8-day adventure from Quito through Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, Baños, and into the Upper Amazon, finishing with a soak in Papallacta's hot springs. This trip is entirely within mainland Ecuador, running from Quito through the Andean highlands, Baños, and the Upper Amazon rainforest before returning to Quito.

Day 1 — Welcome to Quito

Arrive in Quito and transfer to your hotel in the Andean capital to acclimate and rest.

Day 2 — Cotopaxi National Park

A full day of downhill mountain biking below the snow-capped volcano, with an overnight at a traditional hacienda.

Day 3 — Quilotoa Lake

Visit the iconic turquoise crater lake, walk its edge or descend to the water, then explore indigenous villages before travelling to Baños de Agua Santa.

Day 4 — Rafting in Baños

Around two hours descending the rapids of the Rio Pastaza, with safety instruction, followed by leisure time in Baños.

Day 5 — Into the Amazon

Mountain bike the Waterfalls Route with optional zip-lining, visit the Pailón del Diablo waterfall, then canoe to your Amazon lodge.

Day 6 — Time in the Rainforest

An early canoe ride to a parrot clay lick, a rainforest hike with a naturalist guide, and a visit with an Amazonian Kichwa community.

Day 7 — Papallacta Hot Springs

Travel to Papallacta and soak in volcanic hot springs ranging from 86 to 158°F.

Day 8 — Farewell, Ecuador

Breakfast, then transfer to Quito's international airport for departure.
