About This Tour

A comprehensive private walking tour for visitors who only have a few hours to spare but still want the full story of Dublin's sights. Your guide meets you directly at your centrally located hotel and walks you through Temple Bar, St. Stephen's Green, the River Liffey, and Dublin Castle, sharing insider tales along the way.

St. Stephen's Green wasn't always the open, public park it is today. The Dublin Corporation enclosed the land with a wall in 1664, and for over two centuries it stayed a private park reserved for the wealthy residents whose houses ringed it - it only opened to the general public in 1877, thanks to the philanthropy of Sir Arthur Guinness, later Lord Ardilaun. Today it also holds the Famine Memorial, a sculpture group commemorating the roughly one million Irish people who died during the Great Famine of 1845 to 1850.

Your private guide meets you directly at your centrally located hotel for this walk, taking in that same green space alongside Temple Bar, the River Liffey, and Dublin Castle, sharing the kind of insider stories that come from genuinely knowing the city rather than reading from a script. The tour can also accommodate limited mobility - worth mentioning when you book if that applies to your group.
