A 16-day journey linking Argentine Patagonia's classic hikes with a small-ship cruise through the Chilean fjords of Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn, finishing with two days in Santiago. Eight nights are in Argentina (Buenos Aires, El Chaltén and El Calafate) before boarding the Australis expedition cruise, which sails four nights through Cape Horn and the Chilean fjords of Tierra del Fuego; the final three nights are ashore in Chile (Punta Arenas and Santiago). Every night's hotel or cabin is confirmed for wherever the itinerary actually places you that day.

Arrive in Buenos Aires and settle in with a welcome dinner at a traditional Argentine restaurant.
A full day in Buenos Aires taking in Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada and the historic San Telmo market.
Fly to El Calafate then continue by road to the trekking town of El Chaltén.
Hike the Laguna de los Tres trail for classic views of Mount Fitz Roy.
Head back to El Calafate, stopping at the Glaciarium ice museum en route.
Tour the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park with an optional boat ride.
