The Billy Graham Library opened to the public on June 5, 2007, a 40,000-square-foot complex on the grounds of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's headquarters in Charlotte, a few miles from the dairy farm where Graham grew up. Its themed Journey of Faith route moves room by room through multimedia installations, archival photographs, and Graham's personal belongings to tell the story of his ministry.
Outside, the Graham family homeplace, where Graham lived from about age 9 to 17, was preserved and reassembled brick by brick and board by board on the library grounds. The Memorial Prayer Garden nearby is where Ruth Graham was buried in June 2007, which gives the quiet corner of the grounds a personal rather than purely commemorative feel.
