The real draw of a sunset charter on this stretch of water is the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the cable-stayed span that has crossed the Cooper River between Charleston and Mount Pleasant since it opened to traffic on July 16, 2005. Its two diamond-shaped towers rise about 575 feet, and when it opened it was briefly the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America — it remains one of the tallest structures in South Carolina. Seeing those towers from the water as the light changes is a genuinely different view than the one most visitors get from a car crossing it.
Charleston Harbor's water is typically at its stillest in the evening, and the shift from daylight to golden hour over the Ashley, Cooper, and Wando rivers' combined estuary is the real centerpiece of this route — a different mood entirely from the brisker, business-like feel of an early-morning crossing.
Because this charter is reserved exclusively for your own group of up to 20 guests aboard the same real Yacht Kismet used for the morning version, guests have genuinely used it for occasions that call for a private, unhurried evening on the water — anniversaries, proposals, and similar moments — rather than a shared public cruise timed around someone else's schedule.
