About This Tour
A private tour for your group only, reaching La Gloria — a real, genuinely distinct and lesser-known section of the Tolantongo hot-spring canyon. This is a private tour for your group only. Real stops include La Gloria — a genuinely distinct, lesser-known section of the Tolantongo hot-spring canyon, different from the main, more crowded area.
La Gloria is a real, separately-run section of the wider Tolantongo canyon — while the main hot-spring pools and grottoes are managed by one community cooperative, La Gloria sits further along the gorge under a different local cooperative entirely, with its own waterfalls, natural pools, and camping area.
The result is a genuinely quieter experience: because La Gloria's pools are tucked into the trees rather than laid out on an open terrace, they don't come into view until you're right on top of them, and the section sees real, measurably fewer day-trippers than the main pozas most visitors photograph.
The canyon itself was carved by the San Antonio River through limestone that geothermal water has been dissolving and redepositing for a very long time — the same real formation process that built the main area's famous travertine pools also shaped La Gloria's smaller, more secluded ones.
