Inside the Ciudadela plaza stands the Temple of Quetzalcóatl, also called the Feathered Serpent Pyramid — Teotihuacán's third-largest structure and, for a photographer, arguably its most striking. Early-20th-century excavators and later researchers uncovered rows of massive carved serpent heads and sculpted reliefs that once wrapped around every face of the pyramid, a level of three-dimensional stone decoration unmatched anywhere else on the site.

The same excavations turned up a harder truth: an estimated 200 or more people were sacrificed before the pyramid's construction, their remains found in pits nearby with their hands bound — evidence researchers still debate the exact meaning of, whether tied to a ruler's death or to the Feathered Serpent deity itself. Your photographer-guide knows this history and the site's light at different hours, timing your private visit so the carvings, the Avenue of the Dead, and the pyramids themselves photograph at their best, with real, professional shots of your own visit included.
