About This Tour
A private tour for your group only — the real colonial city of Taxco and the genuine Grutas de Cacahuamilpa, one of the largest cave systems in the Americas. This is a private tour for your group only. Real stops include the colonial silver city of Taxco and the Grutas de Cacahuamilpa — a genuine, massive natural cave system, among the largest in the Americas.
The Grutas de Cacahuamilpa form a genuinely massive limestone cave system, carved out over millions of years by underground water dissolving the rock. Around 90 large chambers have been identified inside the mountain, though only about 20 are currently explored and open — real chambers that can reach up to 81 meters high and 40 meters wide.
The lit, walkable route through the caves covers roughly 2 kilometers, a real but comparatively small slice of a cave network that extends far deeper into the mountain than the public path reaches — part of why this stop reads as genuine cave exploration rather than a brief photo stop.
Taxco itself adds a real change of pace before or after the caves: a steep, colonial hillside town built on silver-mining wealth, still home to active silver workshops and craftsmanship tracing back to the same mining industry that built the town centuries ago.
