About This Tour
An exclusive, private float down Canmore's own Bow River — no strangers sharing your raft, just your group drifting past the Three Sisters and the surrounding Rockies with a knowledgeable local guide. This is a private tour — only your group will participate, up to 10 guests per raft. Unlike Voyzo's public river-float alternative in the area, this VIP version reserves the entire raft exclusively for your group as you float the Bow River, taking in views of the Three Sisters and the surrounding Canadian Rockies while your guide shares local history and points out wildlife along the way.
The Bow River takes its name from the bows that Indigenous peoples made from trees growing along its banks. The valley around Canmore was used as seasonal hunting ground by several nations, and the Stoney Nakoda, Siksika, Blood and Kootenai peoples all have deep connections to this country. A float is a slow, quiet way to hear that history from the water.
The mountains you drift beneath have their own story. The Three Sisters were first called the Three Nuns in 1883, then renamed by geologist George Mercer Dawson on his 1886 map. They are also known individually as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister, and by the alternate names Faith, Charity and Hope.
Floating privately means the whole raft is yours, so you can ask the guide about wildlife, geology or early settlers without a group of strangers setting the pace.
