A private, guide-led hike on trails just outside Canmore, well away from the crowded Lake Louise/Moraine Lake circuit, with a real chance of spotting elk, deer, and bears in their natural habitat.
This is a private tour — only your group will participate, up to 7 guests. Your guide drives you from the Canmore Recreation Centre to a carefully selected trailhead away from the busy tourist paths, then leads a real guided hike through forest and rocky outcrops, carrying bear spray, a first-aid kit, and hiking poles the whole way. This is a genuinely different focus from Voyzo's existing Kananaskis hikes out of Banff — this one is built specifically around wildlife tracking and bear-country safety, led by local guides based out of Canmore.

No — wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, but your guide picks trails and times with strong recent wildlife activity, and is trained and equipped for bear-country hiking.
The trails require basic fitness and are not recommended for children under 8 or travelers with mobility or medical concerns given the terrain.
Canmore sits in the Bow Valley wildlife corridor, which grizzly bears, black bears, cougars, wolves and elk all use to travel through the Rockies, so the town and its surrounding trails offer real, regular exposure to bear country and the habits that keep people safe in it.

About This Tour
A private, guide-led hike on trails just outside Canmore, well away from the crowded Lake Louise/Moraine Lake circuit, with a real chance of spotting elk, deer, and bears in their natural habitat. This is a genuinely different focus from Voyzo's existing Kananaskis hikes out of Banff — this one is built specifically around wildlife tracking and bear-country safety, led by local guides based out of Canmore.
Canmore sits inside what ecologists call a wildlife corridor: the Bow Valley is a narrow route that grizzly and black bears, cougars, wolves and elk all rely on to move through the Rockies. That is exactly why a guided hike here feels different from a stroll on a busy lakeside path. The animals are not a gimmick, they are residents, and the town itself has long had to work out how to share the valley with them.
Officials in the region stress that bear spray is a last resort and that the real safety tools are avoiding encounters in the first place: making noise, staying alert, travelling in a group and keeping dogs leashed. A guide who reads tracks and signs, as this one does, is essentially doing that avoidance work on your behalf, steering the group away from fresh sign and explaining what each track or scat means.
The surrounding country has an industrial past too. Canmore was founded in 1883 as a railway division point and became a coal-mining town, with the last mine closing in 1979. Much of the forest you hike through today has grown back over that history.
